On the 12th November 2024, we gathered at Bethlem Gallery for an inspiring in-person session at the Creative Learning Hub
The day featured an introduction to the gallery from Director Sophie Leighton, with insights into their distinct creative learning practice and the learning programme of Bethlem Museum of the Mind, exploring the intersection of creativity and mental health with participants of all ages.
A highlight of the day was hearing from Keith Clapson, whose work is deeply influenced by his journey of managing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) at Bethlem. Keith shared how reclaiming tactility through ceramics has supported his recovery. He now mentors patients at the Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit (ADRU).
The session wrapped up with a live learning workshop, group discussion, and valuable networking among peers passionate about creative health and wellbeing.
Our thanks go to Sophie and her team for their kind and generous hospitality.
